Next campout = February 27, 28 and March 1 at Leo’s in Bristol

The  Janaury campout was held at Ken’s in Delcambre on January 23, 24 and 25th.  This campout was hosted by Polly/Bob and Flo/Cal.

Saturday the meeting was called to order by Bob.  Campers were led in the opening Prayer by Roy.   George led the members in the Pledge of Allegiance and Ben led the campers in God Bless America.  A moment of silence was taken for members’ special intentions for their families and friends.  Members camping this week end – Judy/George, Lois/Roy, Patsy/Ben, Polly/Bob and Susie/Marvin.

George motioned to approve minutes as received and second by Ben.  Members approved minutes.

Judy R gave the treasurers’ report. It was moved by George and second by Lois that the treasurers’ report be accepted as given.  Report was approved by members present.   At this time George made a motion that the club pay the difference in the campground minimum charge which was not met with only 5 campers attending the week end and what would have been met if 8 campers attended the week end.  Lois second this motion and the members approved.

INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS:  Judy and Ham spent the day on Saturday.

NEW BUSINESS:

(1)  February campout needed a host and Lois/Roy volunteered

(2) July and August need hosts.  We will revisit this when we are at Leo’s next month.

(3)  Bob asked Polly to give report on monies donated last month for the clubs adopted child.  Polly told members the amount that was donated and hopefully we can add to that amount this week end and bring the amount to the amount suggested for a gift card. That amount was collected so a gift card from Walmart will be purchased and mailed to the family.

(4) At this time the members gave Medical updates.

(5) Polly told members about an email she received from one of her customers In New Iberia inviting her to their open house of a new location of their pipe yard.  Polly emailed back letting him know that the Friday night was a week end planned for camping at Ken’s in March.  Polly asked him if she could bring guests.  He said yes, plenty of food and drinks.  Polly will email him back and ask if seafood will be offered because this event will be held during lent.  She will advise his response at the next campout.

(6) The Campsite committee will meet directly after this meeting.  Bob asked Polly to briefly report the committee discussions for the 2010 campgrounds. This is the briefing:  All club members present for this week end, were part of the committee.  George asked members to suggest campgrounds for Polly to search out information, such as current fees, if there is a clubhouse available.  The Committee was given the dates for 2010 campouts.  These dates will consist of 4th weekends for all months camped except May which will be the 3rd week end and Nov/Dec which be the 1st week end of December.  Members give the names of 20 campgrounds to be considered.  Polly will begin gathering up information and hopefully when committee meets again at Leo’s some campsites will be chosen.

(7) Members discussed the Natchez trip.  Question is  DO the members want to camp at RiverView in Vidalia or at the State Campgound some 30 minutes from town.  Members advised that they want to camp at RiverView in Vidalia for the convenience of getting around in a short time.   Marvin will contact Riverview and ask them to hold 15 sites.  This number will be fine tuned next month.
