Before You Buy That Next RV

Have It Weighed Before You Pay For It!

WHEN CONSIDERING THE PURCHASE OF A NEW RV, ENSURE THAT IT HAS CARRYING CAPACITY TO MATCH YOUR REQUIREMENTS.

Although you may not be able to find a place to weigh it wheel by wheel, weigh each axle, then evaluate the location of storage areas, liquid tanks, major appliances, slide-out rooms, generator, LP gas tank, etc., to see if the distribution of these heavy components makes sense.

You must have a good knowledge of your personal weight carrying requirements. A few helpful figures; (pounds per gallon)

As you calculate your requirements, keep in mind that EVERYTHING you put in the RV has weight. The average couple carries approximately 2,000 pounds of "stuff", while the average full-time couple carries an average of 3,000 pounds.

Remember, selection of the proper RV for your unique needs is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY!
When you buy a pair of shoes, you don't buy an 8 if you wear a 10! Know what your "size" (carrying requirement) is BEFORE you start shopping, and verify that the proposed RV meets your needs.
